SAVE-GUARDING YOUR HOME
Always make sure you have your doors and windows locked, when you leave for the day and plan on getting home after dark.
Have lights lit or on timers, if you're gone for an extended period of time.
Have someone watch or stop by your house infrequently, while on vacation (the Police Department also conducts House checks, when requested; see Services).
Think about installing outside lighting and have them turned on throughout the night to deter vandalism and car break-ins.
Lastly, the Police Department also encourages participation in our Neighborhood Watch program. We hold quarterly meetings during the year and answer general questions as well as having themed topics (i.e. - identity theft, scams, safety concerns, etc.). |
